As part of the Perkins Grant, welding class comes with 3 hours of college credit from UAF. We will fill out the college registration paperwork in class, then the school district pays the bill for the registration and tuition. The credits appear on your UAF transcript.
Students completing welding have the opportunity to take the position certification test, which will also earn them a professional certificate in welding. This test is given in May of every year.
